Drug Trafficking:Following the strict actions of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the drug trafficking network has suffered a major blow. Reports suggest that this campaign has begun to weaken Dawood Ibrahim's gang, but experts believe that the organization has not yet been completely dismantled. Intense raids and inter-agency coordination have disrupted several routes and supply chains, but some segments of the gang remain active.

Funding internal terrorist activities

Dawood's syndicate is considered the most influential among the many cartels operating across the country. Investigations have revealed that a significant portion of drug revenue is used to fund internal terrorist activities. Several intelligence reports indicate that Dawood's network has been providing financial support to terrorist groups, making dismantling his entire network a security priority.

In the past few months, there have been signs of a shift in Dawood's strategy. In addition to his classic routes, he is now relying on international partnerships. According to intelligence sources, his network now extends to South Africa, and recent indications indicate that contacts are being established with major Mexican cartels.

Mexican connection

After the Coast Guard seized a large drug consignment near the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in late November, it emerged that a Mexican connection had also been activated. Initial investigations indicate suspected links between the cargo and the route to Mexico. It is believed that Dawood's local gang is still attempting to operate the smuggling network through the traditional routes—Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, and Gujarat—while the Mexican network may handle supplies to southern and international markets.

In addition, intelligence agencies have also named some figures associated with Pakistan's ISI, through whom Dawood has been receiving protection and support. Sources say that the ISI and local associates have been providing Dawood with funding and logistics for terrorist activities in India.

Dawood's network has been deeply shocked by the central government's actions, but the danger at the ground level is still intact. Experts believe that sustainable intelligence cooperation, cross-border operation, and international coordination are extremely important to completely eliminate this gang.
